Lost package

Folks.

I need suggestions for a situation that occurred to me.
I ordered 1,500 Berger 6 mm 108 grains bullets from a distributor and informed the shipping address of the store that would export to my country.
It turns out that the store that would export reported an incomplete address and USPS returned the goods to the sender.
But the sender apparently did not receive the aforementioned merchandise, since 25 days have passed since the return.
Is there a possibility of demanding a refund from the USPS?

I am aware that I made a mistake in the address and that I am also guilty, but I believe that they should have returned to the sender ...

Any suggestions?

Sounds, from what you posted, like USPS did returned the item to the sender, or sent it anyway, but somewhere it is lost in between. You might try for the insurance cost from USPS, but I would bet you will never see neither the cost lost or the item again.

Since the distributor initiated the shipment, they will have to be the ones that file the lost package claim. Typically USPS has a waiting period before you can file a claim to make sure the package doesn't show up. Usually 2 weeks. Then be prepared for a lengthy wait while they investigate. USPS doesn't track packages like UPS or FedEx does, they only track when it hits a Post Office, which makes it difficult to find.

Was in your shoes last year. Finely got my package 180 days later. Good luck.Tommy Mc

I believe the sender would have to make the claim as you didn't mail anything...They did.
