Lost my Ball Mic....bushing size question

Stupid me....I lost my Ball Mic....or, more likely loaned it out and didn't get it back!!!! I need to order up my dies for my 22 BR. Going with the usual Redding Comp set type "S". I tried to get a neck thickness on my new Lapua brass with my Caliper, but the numbers are all over the place. What is the average neck wall thickness of Lapua 6 BR brass, and if you are a 22 BR/Dasher shooter, what bushings are you using for a no turn chamber?

Thanks,
Tod

Do you have a loaded round you can measure?

Edit: When you neck down the cases, the neck thickness is going to change.

I need dies to make a dummy, as I have no way to reduce the neck to .224. Also, I knew about the change, that is why I also asked what bushings are being used. I wasn't sure how much thicker the necks will get one they get squezed down.

Thanks,
Tod

When I get to the shop today I'll get it and post for you if nobody else has by then.

I measured 10 cases from a new box I have sitting here. I'd say the average of those is real close to .0125". I measured 2 spots on each case, 180* from each other, and the lowest I saw was .012" and highest was .013". Most were ~.01225" to ~.01275". I turn my necks down to .010", so I can't help with the no-turn question.

.001 per side. Matt

Tod: My no-turn reamer is for a .253 neck and I figure loaded blue box round at .249-.250. That allows for max of .013 neck wall thickness. Doug

For reference, my 22 Dasher no turn reamer was .254" for cardboard boxed Lapua brass. I used a .250" bushing for sizing.

Thanks guys!! That helped!

Now, does anyone know where N-L I put my Ball Mic? That would REALLY help!!;)

Tod -- Check in your golf bag.

That is just too good. Yessir, right there next to the dimple depth counter. You know, some of you expert reloaders could give those golf boys some real lessons in controlling variables.;):p:confused::)
