Norma brass not so good

No,
If it would have been made of CM I probably would still have it. I sold it to Roger Vardy in Australia and sent it to Duane Wiebe to be built into a very nice custom.

Precisely the reason I don't buy opened bags of brass or bullets. Hard to imagine but some folks will pull all the culls and sale them as new.

I just neck turned 100 Norma 6.5-284 cases that another shooter gave to me. They were once fired. I was impressed with how consistent the neck wall thickness was, on my first cut. Given the starting neck wall thickness, I'm pretty sure that they had never been turned before. I usually use Lapua, and these Norma cases were right up there with them, quality wise. Lightman

I just measured the necks on some of my 300Wmag of RWS brand. Most were .012-.014. Some were closer and none worse. I normally do not measure neck thickness on hunting brass.

If I were you and you have more than one of these cases, I would send them to Norma. It is obviously some kind of slip-up in quality control. I have used hundreds of Norma cases in 6 PPC and never had any kind of quality problems. The brass will not take hot benchrest loads without stretching and quickly separating. But in the factory chambers of my Coopers and Rugers, with milder loads, the Norma cases are fine.

I had what I considered to be a quality problem with Lapua .223 brass and sent them three cases that were no good. They replaced the three cases and sent me five extras. I'm sure Norma will stand behind their product also.
