Losing accuracy after 20ish rounds?

Older Rem 700 SA.
Perfect!
Get a remage barrel from Northland Shooters Supply [or other supplier].
To take the existing barrel off, you'd need the their 'action wrench', a solid bench vise.
To put the new barrel on, you'd need a go and no go gauge along with remage nut wrench.
~ $160 [not including the bench vise].

A Criterion 26" barrel is $325.

Presumably not benchrest worthy, but, in my experience, they shoot 1/2 MOA +/- a bit.

UPDATE: after some Kroil and JB Paste then some Butch's bore shine, its prolly not been this slean since new. Bore scope shows the "darkness" near the chamber is gone.

So....gonna load up 40 rounds same load, shoot them and see what I got.

If it doesn't shoot even yet, them I''m gonna sell it as a truck axle. :)

Good move.

30 off.

Had some ppl tell me to get right on the lands. Even jammed. Then others came and told me that was foolish and dangerous.

I'm wondering if I slowed velicity to 2850ish.... I had a good accuracy node there, also. In theory, slower bullets copper up the bbl slower.

Your comment that "this is not normal" helps... that I should expect different.
Sorry for the delay in answering. Find jam, and then back off of that 9-15 thou and you will definitely find a seating depth that works great (if I had to get, I’d say at about 9 thou off jam).

I’d try to get about 9-18 thou off of jam. If you can’t find a load to shoot in that window, the barrel is junk.

2850 is super slow for a dasher load.

May as well have a straight BR and not worry about dasher issues
My dasher is at 3071fps avg at 50F with 33.1g of RL-15. My girlfriend’s dasher is at 3025fps avg at 50F with 33.0g of RL-15. Different reamers, brass and free bores between our rifles. We both shoot .271” necks and use #450 primers. My barrel is 2” longer than hers and she runs a tuner and I don’t on my current dasher (but will on my new dasher that should ship soon).
