Looking to try first club CF Benchrest match

A word of warning.

That old fallacy of “informal club match” is just that, a fallacy.

Any time two or more shooters get together to see who is the best on that day, the concept of informality goes out the window.;)

Heck, at our Tomball Club Matches, ain’t nobody shooting anything that can’t win.

Iif a fellow shooter hands you that….”this isn’t my good barrel” BS, just assume he’s lying ;)

This is below where I’m at at 200, today. I upped the charge to 24.0, and I think I’ll lock that in and load for a match.

The only matches I have shot from a bench were rimfire, and my only reference frame would be my significantly heavier guns.

The little bullets move but I saw potential on the gun’s part.

Out of curiosity, relative to say quarters, nickels and dimes to cover the centers, what would the “mean” of the field’s coin size group be expected to look like at 200? Assuming there’s some real wind, what does the typical worst and best string tend to look like? (Don’t worry, I’m incapable of being discouraged lol).

I can say these little 50’s at 200 can open to a horizontal minute if I totally disregard wind. That’s different from my heavy bullet regime but this gun at 13 pounds with such a mild cartidge and for a 1975 barrel, of mystery history, isn’t disappointing.
