Looking to buy a 6.5 creedmoore

I am wanting to buy a new 6.5 and I'm getting brain overload on trying to decide on which to buy.
I've looked from TC compass to the Bergaras.etc. I want something I don't have to pillar bed etc, I work 6 days a week and don't want to spend time rebbedding a stock.
My budget is 500 to 900 give or take a few bucks.

There was a nice ruger in classifieds for around 850 I believe
Edit ,$750

The Bergera HMR's are nice...
I've shot 2 of'em and both shot real good.
No work, just load and shoot..after you
clean it first...

Ruger American is very affordable. It has a pretty cool V bedding block and shoots pretty good. I will say that shooing from them bench is not real pleasant. The grip cap on stock is kinda sharp. Knocked the Hyde off my left knuckles a couple of times yesterday while squeezing rear bag. It’s just a hard stock for me to get down and comfortable on from the bench but I will shoot good.

My son in law has one in a savage, I think it is a model ten but not certain. His shoots well also and is a little more comfortable.

Check out Johnny's Reloading Bench on youtube. Guy doesn't do squat to his guns and his Tikka shoots damn good for a pencil barrel. I do believe he adjusted the trigger and that is it. Here's the kicker...only paid $200 for it after rebates.

Savage is off MY list because the way they treat left handed shooters , BUT , you didn't say your intended use , Savage STEALTH to Savage's Tactical Desert

I wouldn't pay too much attention to his reloading practices, he does some stuff that's not so good. I thought his gun was a Savage Axis?

Do you have the tikka lite barrel. How is it holding up?

No. It is heavier than a lite barrel. There are also some 24" CTR's out there. That's 129gr Hornady American Whitetail factory ammunition at 100 yards in the photo. I am not much of a long range shooter, but I have been able to get a few 4 1/2 to 5" groups out of it at 500 yards with 130 gr Prime. I haven't started to reload for it yet.

My intended use is primarily target and learning to shoot distance, I will be reloading my own ammo .

Agreed. I'm a big fan of JRB - He's not a high dollar precision guy like most of us. But he has fun and I imagine appeals to what MOST people are doing. Buying a gun and having fun learning and squeezing as much out of it as possible without really high dollar toys, smiths, and accessories.

In general sure. The thing I didn't like was him showing how he set his reloading dies to "cam over" to bump his shoulders. He did this showing the press visibly flexing as he smashed his shell holder into the bottom of the die. The ram and the die where visibly no longer concentric / coaxial. That's not the correct way to bump your shoulders.

He did that in his beginning videos, going by the directions that came with the dies. He is now using the better method. He's learned just like most everyone else watching his videos. I learned a lot when I first started casting bullets for my 300 BLK from his videos. His melting pot PID temp controller helped me to get better results.
