Looking for thoughts on 6mm ARC deer hunting bullet

Two years ago we were in a state of work with what you may find for Hunting bullets for the 6mm ARC & most anything else for that matter.

Today our hunting bullet options seem considerably wider. In all copper bullets we have .243 caliber viable bullet choices from 55 grains up to 95 grains. Cup & core .243 cal hunting bullets range from 85 grain up to 108 grain. what would be your favorite hunting bullet for whitetail or mule deer for that matter. Break this down to bolt gun & gas gun if you like or lump your choices together i suppose.

Really for me it would depend on several factors.
First being rifling twist rate. (I'm not sure what a typical twist rate is in the 6ARC rifles)

Second would be realistic velocity from different bullet weights.
Although it's only 200fps difference, if you can push a bullet at 3,000fps vs 2,800fps you are going to end up with a faster/cleaner kill as the hydrostatic shock will be higher.
Example would be the difference of my 250 Savage vs my 257 Roberts.
While the Savage works, the Roberts is much more effective.

That said, I'd probably lean towards the 85gr Ballistic Tip for the ARC.

Mono's your going to be limited in weight due to their longer length.

As for twist rate, standard twist rate for 6mm ARC is 1 in 7.5 inches. Standard factory Ammo runs103 gr ELDX, 105 gr BTHP & 108 grain ELD. so the standard 6mm ARC is throated for longer bullets. Although cartridge OAL is generally limited to 2.250 ish for most magazine lengths. Understand exceptions do exist for magazine length.

Sierra 85 gr BTHP is a very good deer killer. It is made with a little thicker jacket than a normal varmint bullet. You should be able to get very close to 3000fps if you are in a 18" to 20" barrel.

More recent factory loaded hunting loads include lighter hunting bullets like the 90 gr ELDX w a stated velocity from a 18" barrel being 2685. Also see a larger assortment of offerings from HSM with less data currently being offered.

I have been using a CZ 527 w a 22" light contour Pacnor 7.5 twist for the last 2 years. Opted to use the 108 grain Elite hunter the first season with that barrel. Second season I tried the 87 grain Absolute Hammer. Muzzle velocity was 2780 & 3020 respectively. One deer was taken the 1st year & 254 yards. High shoulder hit resulted in an instantaneous collapse, DRT results. Two deer were taken the 2nd season, both at 100 yards. Heart lung hit on the 1st resulted in an 80 yard death run. Only had a neck, head shot opportunity on the 2nd doe. Base of the neck resulted in another DRT experience.

CNS shot placement may be necessary if DRT results are the goal.

For cup and core bullets, I would say the 105 grain Bergers, the 95 grain Sierra TMKs, the Hornady 103 grain ELDX or 108 grain ELDMs, or the Nosler 95 grain ballistic silvertips.
For monometal bullets, I would recommend the 90 grain Hornady CX, the Barnes 95 grain LRX, or the 92 grain Cavity Back MKZ.

Due to availability the 90 GR CX over CFE 223 will be my deer bullet this deer season. That is last fall, the 6mm 90 gr CX was not avaiable. One grain under max listed load is looking promising in my 22" bolt action CZ 527.

All great choices for that caliber
