Good afternoon, all!
Firstly, I would like to thank anyone and everyone that has any words of advice in advance. I also apologize for not being better educated in the world of benchrest and for taking up both space and time in this forum. I've spent a couple months trying to search for information trying to identify these guns on my own and have wound up more confused than ever. I also have one very active toddler who requires most of the free time I once had to do online research!
The backstory: my father was hoping to get into the world of benchrest, but I think he also just enjoyed collecting the guns. He had 7-8 benchrest rifles (and several other handguns, shotguns, and rifles) but after his death two years ago, a few managed to disappear. Five of the guns in his collection have been recovered and delivered to me. I'm hoping to identify these guns and most probably sell them so they can be put to use by somebody who can better appreciate them. I was enjoying a bit of rifle and handgun practice in the hopes of competing before parenthood, but I never even came close to this realm of shooting.
All five are either 6mm ppc or 6mm br, but I can't say anything else about them. Some have a polymer style body and two are wooden. All have different markings on the barrels, different scopes, etc. I'm not uploading any pictures yet in case this isn't the proper place to do so. I recently moved to San Antonio, TX so I'm not familiar with any of the gun shops around here. Does anyone know of someone in this area that could help me properly identify or appraise these guns, or is there someone online (either here or somewhere else) that can point me in the right direction?
Again, I greatly appreciate any help offered!
