Looking for a soft sided gun case-what do you all like.

Looking for a soft sided gun case for my long range rifle. The stock is a Shehane Tracker. 48 1/2 " long with the 3" forend. A Nightforce Competition 15x55 sits on top of it. I've got several hard cases that fit it but would like to try to find a soft case. Any suggestions from you guys would be appreciated. Thanks

Bullets.com has a nice soft case with thick padding. Works great with really long Fclass rifles but would work great for your length of rifle.

It would help if you tell us why you want a soft sided gun case.
Don't really understand why it would help you to know why but there are times I prefer a soft case to a hard one hauling the rifle to the range and back. Plus it's easier to slide the gun into a case versus trying to close a hard case on a 3 inch forend and big scope. Hope that helps.

The reason I ask is I was wondering what features you are looking for, and if you were looking for the same thing as I was. As usual, the more information you supply, the better we can tailor our answer to your needs.

I have a hard Pelican case but although it gives ultimate protection, it is heavy and difficult to carry to our 600 yards range which involves moving significant distance over uneven ground. I have an AI AT with a 26” .260 Rem barrel and it is a folder. I ended buying a Triad Tactical 42” Precision Rifle Carry Case. My rifle will fit inside the bag and it is light and I can carry it on my back using the optional backpack straps. It also doubles as a shooting mat which again reduce my load. For your application, their 52” bag would likely work better.

No sweat! FWIW, it is amazing how light an 18 lb rifle and the associated shooting gear feels when it is on my back... ;D

+1

I have the midway drag bag. Holds the rifle, tripod, spotting scope and various other stuff. Got it for $79, seems to be holding up well but it's not like I'm dragging it through the mud.

I received a canvas and leather sheep skinned lined gun case as a gift from my cousin and hunting buddy from Orvis. It's long enough and wide enough to hold my 12FTR and 10x50 Sightron scope. It's a dandy. Barlow

I'm happy with my voodoo tactical soft case. But I don't have all the options you 'mericans have

When Obama leaves office, you guys should pick him up for your country. Then you can have all the wonderful benefits he has brought us ;D

Peeling Back The Onion

Not sure who might make this Case for Remington, but I recently received it with my 28 1/2" Barrel 6mmBR Norma.

Looks like a hard airline approved case on the outside.

Inside, there is a separate tri-fold soft case with an additional outer pocket.

Open that up and there is one side for the rifle and scope, which is now a Sightron III 8-24 with the Sunshade installed.

Than the padded flap and space on the other side for accessories.
