Looking for a machinist to do a small job

Have a few barrels set up for a Bukys/Wollum tuner 7/8 x 32 that I want to try a supressor on (5/8x24). The barrels are threaded 1 to 1.5 inches. Anyone willing to make a thread changer for me that can handle the task? Asked my GS and he took a pass so now looking around. Shouldn't be tough for many in this crowd, but I know it's a one off.

PM me and we can talk particulars. Have access to a lathe, but this is not the project to learn how to use one. Old enough to know when to use a pro.

Thanks,
Drew

I surely wish I could help. Sold my lathe a few years back.
I do know of a fellow who "could" do a jam up job, can think in and out of the box and would not skin you and who has a long time shooting bud in NV iirc.
Give AckleymanII, Keith, a PM. I'll give him a heads up.
Thanks for the vote of confidence. Tom

I can make you a couple, but I will will need the parts to use as a gage if you want them fit like they should.

Thanks for the offer and I completely understand the need to have the parts for just the right fit. However, the cost to ship 2-4 barrels each way plus a suppressor I don't have possession of yet (and probably cannot legally ship to you) on top of the cost of machining parts wilI make my "for fun" project a bit too much of a financial commitment to consider doing. Do appreciate the interest, nonetheless. Drew

I see far too many rifles suffer from poor performance because of generic ill fitting parts. That is why I think it is imperative to get these critical pieces correctly machined and matched.

I agree, but my only concern would be a baffle strike for poor alignment vs a total breakdown of accuracy. Not looking for 1/4 moa groups (although the barrels are capable of that) rather silent 1 moa groups for laughs. Agree that maximum accuracy demands thoughtful and we'll executed machining.

I was thinking a guy could make a class 3a plug gauge to insure the the internal 7/8-32 was to size. Could keep it to the middle or low end of the class 3 tolerance zone to insure fit while maintaining a good tight thread fit. Thoughts?
