Got my 6br out the other day to check the zero for the upcoming hog season and found that it was wasn't gouping so hot, cleaned it up and checked it with the bore scope, throat is fine but somehow there are pitted spots all through the barrel, don't know what happened to cause it but puts me in a tight spot.
Was looking to get another season, maybe 2 out of the barrel and then planed to rebarrel it to a 6dasher. The rifle is a little short hs precision stocked 700, current barrel is 21" and I was going to do the same in 6dasher and set it up for the 95g Bergers so the reamer would be under .100 freebore, maybe .070-.080.
So it's a longshot but wondering if anyone knows of a good smith out there with such a reamer, turn neck would be nice but at this point I'm not going to be picky. Also looking for a smith that might let me pay a little extra to get it done sooner, I know that's out of the norm but I'm kinda in a tight spot with the little brown critters poking their heads out already and me with a dud barrel.
