Looking for a good load for 58 grn V max and/or 68grn Berger Flat base

Hey Guys I just got my cooper 6br back I was shooting a 58 grain V max behind 32 grns of H322 was shooting in the .4s @ 100yds and I was also shooting some 68 grn bergers with h335 and h4895 grouping about half inch these are 3 shot groups. I am using CCI br primers Luapa brass Seating 3 thousadths off the lands. Just wandering if anyone had any load suggestions that would tighten up my groups thanks.

Lee, I would try some Vihta Vuori N-135 powder.. I don't have my load info here, but I shot plenty of it with 70gr MK's in my 13 twist 6BR...It really brought that gun to life..

Lee31,
I get terrific results with the Berger 68gr Match bullets, using 33.5gr of Varget. The bullets are seated to just touching the lands, using Lapua brass and CCI 450 primers. When I am doing my part, I have shot 0.5in groups at 300yds.

Lee, a guy that was President of the NBRSA set a world record some years back at 100 yards shooting the 60g bullet with a hot load of H335. He told me about the loads while we were on a squirrel trip together.

Immediately when I got home, I worked up a load with the h335 with the 60g Sierra and holy cow what a good shooting combo! Velocity was 3650 out of a 24" barrel to boot!

I shot very tiny groups with the 60g Sierra's and it was hard to tell the difference between the 60g Sierra and the 60g Berger in accuracy shooting groups in the 2's consistently, match competitive for sure.

My rifle shot 322 very well also, but slow compared to the h335!

One thing that you will notice about the h335 with the 60 & 65g bullets is how clean it burns...really hard to believe! After 50 rounds fired, take the bolt out and look down the barrel...really amazing at the lack of powder fouling!

Good luck!

JimW,
I've had excellent results using 68 grn. Fowlers, Hammonds, and Bergers using 33.8 gr. Varget, Lapua brass, CCI 450 primers as well. The 65 grn. V-Maxes and Bergers work with 34.5 grn. Varget and all the same components.

Has anyone shot these lighter bullets thru a 1-10 twist, I know it is not optimum for the lighter weights. Had good luck with the 75 -90 weight range in this lilja. Always looking for a little more splat factor Thanks

I'm using the 68gr Bart's Ultra with 29.6 grs of H-322 in my 1~8" twist 6mmBR. Just got it and haven't tried it on varmints yet but on paper it shines.

12man,
i had a br with a 1x10 twist. the best load was a 58 v-max. it would absolutely scream with those bullets. used aa2460. too much powder to list but it showed no pressure signs. it also liked the 75 v-max. i have had the same luck in a 243 with a 1x10 twist.
