Both rescues we adopted turned out to be neurotic.
I've had 5 labs...great dogs.
I had a German Shedder...would keep the Jehovah's Witnesses in the car but the hair everywhere was maddening.
In 2019 we were gifted an AKC Brittany that had FHO surgery and the owner didn't want to invest the time into him to train him for field trials bc of this.
About the same time we were gifted an F1 Labradoodle female who's owner was diagnosed with Stage 4 Kidney cancer and could no longer care for her. We bred her with an AKC Standard Poodle to donate a pup to a friend's son who's service lab died unexpectedly in the middle of the night. The last time she came in heat, my wife left the gate open about 6 inches and the Brittany got jiggy with her. We now have 12 Brittany Doodles.
Those two are hunters through and through. He's tough on quail and she's a heck of a rabbit/ratter. She also brings moles to the door at least once a month.
I wish I owned 10k acres so that I could have Irish Wolfhounds and let them roam freely.
