Longer Gun Case - Good Job Cabela’s!

i own several Cabela’s Armor Extreme long gun cases — very solid and I really like them — but the single rifle model is too short for a few of my rifles, and the double case is really heavy and bulky for just a routine range trip with one rifle. The older single model is 48” x 8.5” on the inside. I decided to find a longer single rifle case and discovered that Cabela’s changed the single rifle design to make it longer and wider, the “Armor Extreme Plus Single” is now 52” x 11.5” inside - just right for me, and maybe other forum members will like these too.

Only issue with that model gun case, is the weight. Be ready because it's great for shipping rifles, but cumbersome for weekly range shooting. Found lighter ones that I bought so my 2 heavies sit more than they get used. Just my .02 worth.

It’s 13 pounds which I don’t mind much. The double rifle version with the wheels is 23 lbs. That’s the one I don’t want to use much.

Well once barrel lengths become 28" and over, the need for a case that's over 50" is necessary. Most of my 30" barrel rifles need minimum of 52" gun cases.

I think Boyt makes them. I have Boyt H51 double case...

If Cabela case is made by Boyt it is great product.

The dimensions are slightly different on the Boyt vs Cabela’s double long gun cases; however, the latches, rollers, tags, etc. look identical. I suspect they are made in the same factory that is a supplier to both Boyt and Cabelas. The Cabelas’ version is quite a bit cheaper especially if you know that they go on sale every few months.
