differences in 6br remington and 6br norma?

any one willing to help a newbie?

I've just recently received my used 6mm br Remington...... i think it is that is...lol

it has a savage model 12 bvss-s trued and tuned action, a 22" shilen SS select match barrel #7 taper,.262 tight neck, 700rnds, rifle basix trigger, and a modified savage varmint laminated stock, 6.5 x 20 x 40 Leupold, Burris pos-align mounts, also with single shot loading ramp installed...heres the deal i see on this forum a case length of 1.55....mine has to be trimmed to about 1.52 using lapua 6br Norma brass..so what is this rifle chambered as and should i be using different load data than what is listed on this site...by the way every one seems to be great about sharing their "secret recipes" thanks it has been very educational... since this is my first experience with a semi custom gun and neck turning,reloading....ummmm i guess an all around first....any information that you could give me would be greatly appreciated

One of my 6BR's was cut with an original 6BR Rem. reamer as well. Your seating depth may be a little shorter than most of the current chambers and max loads you see printed, should be worked up slowly, but theres not alot of difference.
There is also a little difference in body dims but mine works very well with Lapua brass.
I do plan on running another throater in mine just because turning necks and trimming to 1.52 is a pain.

Get you some benchrest bullets from Brady Knight, 334-227-4567 and try those. You'll shoot smaller groups with those than you will with a factory bullet. Try seating them out until they touch the lands.
