Raptor, sorry to hear you're having trouble with the 6,5x55 accuracyvise. I'm afraid I can offer no advise on why. Over here as a last resort, shortening the barrel about 1" is tried to gain expected accuracy.
Myself have best results with
N140 100-120gr bullets
N150 120-140gr bullets
N160 160gr bullets
MRP or N15 140gr LR loads.
Printed some groups on paper @500m,550yds) with my AMAX LR load this weekend. Vertical spread 1.2" at best, but winds opening horisontal spread to almost 4". I believe this load is capable of true 1/3 MOA LR groups, I just haven't had the conditions to shoot them yet. Shot of bipod with hard grip right hand.
Tried some Scenar and SMK bullets over same load as well, you can easily put a 2x on group. This barrel will simply not shoot anything but Amax.
...and yes, I believe the x55 is a truly versatile cartridge in a modern action too.
I shoot everything with it, and constantly find myself returning to it. It will be interesting to see what the 6,5x47 grows into...
