Fireform loads for a 6.5x55 AI/BJAI/GWI

I am new to this caliber and its derivatives and I would be happy with suggestions out there for good fireforming loads for the improved versions of the 6.5x55 Swede. I bought Lapua factory ammo and it is shooting well and the cases look nice after firing, but I also have 100 Lapua cases that I need to fireform.

I have the proper bullets and powder, so any good recipes would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

There's couple of guys over on the hide running this caliber. They have a lot of information posted about the AI version. Here's the link:

I have been shooting the GWI for several years and I never have a problem taking virgin brass to a club match for re-forming. I seat a 140 gr. bullet out long and use a tighter than normal size bushing neck bushing when I run all the brass through the sizing die. This method gives me plenty of pressure and the cases come out with nice crisp corners. My shooting partner FF some remaining at the 800 yrd. line at the nationals and shot it clean with 5 or 6 "X" if I recall.

I will tell you two things.
1. Don't EVER take any one shooters published loads as gospel.
2. The reason is the your rifle and barrel are not the same, I promise you on that. The reason for that is dimensional differences.
If you haven't shot your bbl. yet, send me a private post and I will send you back a word doc. that outlines everything you need to be as successful as you and your equipment is able.
I hope this helps.

For fire forming I used a 40 gr of ADI2209 which is H4350 I think, it would be considered a min load in a modern action. I had 5 thou jam just so bolt was just tight and seemed to work. I used a similar formula for a new wildcat on the same case min load just kissing the lands.

I fireform with 48g. of H4831ssc.
My load is usually around 50g. of 4831ssc.
I also use Norma MRP.
Will drive 140 class bullets as fast as need be and with less powder than a 6.5x284
