Locking lug lube

What do you guys recommend for the best live that will stay in place. The lube I’m using now seems to not be able to with stand the pressure.

Good luck keeping it in place. I haven’t found one, so I just keep on keeping on with Lucas Red N Tacky and reapply as needed.

Yeah I was wondering what people had found for a high viscosity impact gun lube.

the lucas red and tacky seems to stay on longer than anything else and that's what I use . 1 tube from the auto parts store would probably cover the earth. it is very messy and it does attract dirt.

If I recall correctly Borden recommends the White Teflon Grease from Lucas.

my gunsmith sez TW25 but I use Bore Tech red grease just because I have a tube in my range cleaning box. My 6BR bolt got bone dry somehow and was just before galling, red bore tech made it slick and slippery again.

I've been using Mobil 1 synthetic wheel bearing grease. Works as good as any other and a whole lot cheaper.

I'm with Bill, been using it for about 12 years now after Greg Wally who was with Kelbly's at the time, turned me on to it. About 2.50 a quart can at most auto parts stores.

TW25 grease. I clean it off the locking lugs in the action each barrel cleaning, and reapply it to the bolt.

I think you have to just keep cleaning and re-applying.

I've been using RIG, if Krieghoff says it good for their shotguns then it has to be good enough for my bolt actions. I've never had a problem and the lugs lock up nice and smooth.

Exactly. There is no magic formula IMO.

Amzoil synthetic tube grease. I use it on everything
that requires lubrication. Works well on a bolt. LDS

I don't think that the bolt lugs are going to notice the difference what kind of grease you use just as long as there is something on them. It's another nobody's wrong question.
