Location of Rail in Forend

Planning on a Manners T4A for my next T/R stock (using an old sling/prone stock now). My bipods all use the Anschutz rail attach so I have a new 10" rail I'll be sending to Manners to install.

Question is, where to locate it front to rear on the forend of the stock? I shoot a switch barrel set up and have some light and medium palma barrels finished between 25" and 28" plus a heavy 30" 308 barrel. Obviously I am more concerned about adjusting for the heavy 308 barrel. Anyone have suggestions or experience as to where to best locate the rail?

Thanks

I use Manners T2A for my T/R rigs. The flat on the forearm is 10" total and both my rails are 7". Plenty of adjustment.

Stay safe,

Here's a shot of my T4a F-TR rifle's rail. It is 5", just enough for the bipod. I use a heavy varmint profile barrel and prefer it as far forward as possible. Note also absence of mag cut. It is a blank stock with a Borden single shot action.
