Loc tite action screws

It works wet and dry I thought.

Most of the Loctite products are anaerobic (lack of oxygen) and won't dry sitting there in the open. They need to be applied and assembled for them to set. This is why they last virtually forever in their bottles or tubes. There are products that are meant to be pre-applied and allowed to dry. You'll also find you can buy fasteners with pre-applied dry lock compounds on them.

And... I dont want to be "that guy" but we should always reference loctite by it's number, not its color. I have 3 different "green" loctites and they're very different.

and if they are allen, consider buying a NEW high quality allen wrench before you start -they do wear out over time.

I use only vc3 on gun screws. Stays soft and never had one come loose and is reuseable

I had to get this one out like so:

I spot faced the rear action screw area in the bottom metal and used button head Allen cap screws front and rear.

I have used the drill press to be able to hold down pressure on both phillips and standard slotted screws. I have made a bar that fits the hole in the press chuck and turn the chuck by hand in order to keep screwdriver bit from slipping out and marring the screw.

Also don't be blind and dumb like me and try to unscrew action screws with a hex bit when they are in reality torx head screws.

I guess I live in a different world. I put oil on my action screws.

And avoid those ball head (for articulation) Allen wrenches. Especially on small fasteners.

"CLEAR FINGERNAIL POLISH" works very good. No chance of twisting off a screw head and it holds tight.
