I have enough Varget and 107smk to fire form 200 rounds or is there another powder and bullet I can use just for fire forming I'm shooting a 6br 1:8 barrel twist any help would be appreciated and thank you ahead of time Bill

Load your favorite Varget load and go shoot.

Even loading to form to 6BRA, load it with about 30 gr Varget and send it. It will still group well. Don’t just send them into the berm. They will group well enough to compete.

Well, if it’s just for
a straight BR chamber, Bill’s post above is Spot-On.

I know several top flight shooters who believe they shoot better with new brass and do so at big matches.

Ah..!!
I use 29gr of AA2520 to fire form with- 6BR, 6brai,6dasher…..


Use 30gr of Varget to win with !!!


Guess everyone has different methods.. tho I haven’t done it on a 6BR- I try to get 2-3 firings on a case, before going to competition… now on the 6brai… nothing like winning on fireforming !!!

I use 30.5 gr of Varget with 105 vld Berger bullets in 1:8 twist barrel thanks for all the input guys it's really appreciated and thank you Bill
