Load data for 75gr .223 for 1:8 twist barrel

“when someone says to load magazine length with a near max load with a bullet that is not designed to be loaded at standard magazine length,”

I may have missed it. Can you tell me about these bullets that aren’t “designed” to be loaded at mag length. I just looked thru my Hornady and Berger books and I can’t seem to find any.
Since this post is from 2 years ago; the original post that I responded too is no longer in its original form, and the content and time line is missing, I have no interest in entertaining your conversation. Read the whole post, If you can't piece it together, I can't and won't assist. Start a new thread with your questions, and I will respond if I have something of value to offer.

Show me in your Hornady reloading manual where is says a starting charge of 25 grains of CFE-223 with a 75Gr ELDM loaded to 2.26 OAL is a good "starting" charge. My tenth edition shows a max charge of 23.6 gr at 2.39" OAL. Sputter, Sputter.

I know this is a revived thread but I thought to ask anyone for there thoughts with the Hornady 75gr BTHP w/cannelure. I’ve just chambered a 29in 1:8 5r Bartlein Hvy. Varmit and I’m thinking I’ll use these little guys. What will I find velocity, accuracy, range etc. Any and all thoughts will be much appreciated.
Thank You

With a Wylde chamber and 29in barrel and at 2.245 OAL, GRT shows nodes at just under 25 grains and at about 25.7 grains for 2520 at 2940fps/52K psi and 3040 fps/58.5K psi , respectively. As always, start low and work up.

75BTHP do have an rpm limit. Don’t hot rod them too fast or you may see a poof half way to the target. Keep them sane and they will shoot tiny groups for you.
