Its kind of common on the green Mountain barrels to get a jammed 22. I fixed that issue with replacing the extractor with a better quality one.[/. Volquartsen extractor is the best I have found, by a wide margin

You don't know whom your talking to..
Ya it's getting old , a lot of the old school guys have moved on because of some new members and all the arguing...ever notice that on some threads after 8 or 9 post others jump in and start to criticize others,,I'm done now,,
None of the custom rifles with cone beaches I know of in bench rest games Will eject a live round. Not because they are jammed. They can be pulled out without losing bullet.
They seat deep and when fired they come into the extractor.
No psl, ara or ir match ends in a way that anyone has a bullet in. But range master says "if ya got one in, shoot it" to call range cold during practice.
Ahhh, I thought this was a rim fire board ..
My opening statement was clearly regarding my 10/22 - so it was opined.Yeah, an earlier poster made reference to CF extraction with possible powder dump. Nobody ever opined that it was a RF issue.
Not my fault if you get confused easily.
Well, back to my live round ejection problem. I installed a Kidd extractor and new spring that came with it. It appears to have a more pronounced "hook" to grab the case. It helped, but not 100% fix. I'll get one failure on each 10 round mag. I loaded a ten round mag and then try ejecting all ten, one round at a time.
Think I'll call Kidd tomorrow and see if they have any suggestions. Any ideas here?
I have a Kidd barrel and extractor on my 10/22 match rifle. I will honestly say that it will almost never pull a live round. when I can get it to, I am positive that the bullet has been engraved by the start of the rifling. It's kind of the nature of the beast. That jamming effect works to align the bullet and then create pressure when fired. When I shoot the NRL22 matches, I rarely end a stage with rounds left. But when that does occur, we always just allow the shooter to finish the rounds in the mag at the target. It's just steel after all.
