Something like this actually happened in Friendship Arkansas in the late 50s. Old man had a water Mellon patch and the locals were stealing his mellons as fast as they got ripe, he puts up a sign that says one mellon in the patch has been poisoned..."take your chances"..... next morning there was another sign right by his saying " now there's two mellons poisoned ... take your own chance" . We don't know if either one of them poisoned any water mellons or not but the rest of the mellons rotted in the patch...... John
