Limit on 223 w/ 1-12 twist

Exploring the options for my grand daughter, who was also blessed by being left handed. I'm thinking about a Rem SPS V in 223 and throwing it into a B&C or Choate stock. Looking for thoughts on the accuracy levels with 52/53 , 55 ballistic tip and 55 SMK bullets Max range, no more then 400 Yds.

Thank you

Try the Hornady 53 gr V-max, shoots good and good ballistics. Keep in mind that all factory barrels do not shoot good. the 53 V-max needs a 12 twist or tighter barrel. I have shot them out to 300 yds and they are sub MOA out of a Winchester factory 223 barrel.

With little wind Is be fine taking small game upto fox at those ranges with good shot placement but when winds up it will hinder you. Accuracy should be good. Try the 53gr Vmax or 55gr Blitzking to maximise BC.

Sounds like a good plan(especially switching stocks). Don't forget about the 40's. at 3800 they actually do really well, probably one of my favorite varmint bullets in the 223.

Do you plan on bedding the stock?

Thank you all,
The 700 isn't my first choice but there dosen't seam to be any Savage's varmints available , The one with the 1-9 would allow much heavier bullets, but wind isn't a big factor.
As to the stock, I'm leaning toward one with the built in Alum. bedding blocks.

Don't know if this is helpful, but have you tried calling Lester Bruno's shop and seeing if they can get you the Savage rifle you seek? They do sell Savages and might be able to get you the one you seek. And you have to call as it would NOT necessarily appear on their website. Info only.
