Going to purchase either a leupold VX6HD 3-18 x44 or Sightron SIII PLR 6-24x50 would like to hear any input

I would think the 24X in the Sightron is going to provide a better sight picture at long range [assuming long range is 500-600 yards].

I'm a fan of the Burris XTR II 8-40x50 F-Class MOA. The higher power comes in handy for bench work, it has good glass, the turrets have a good feel and track flawlessly, and the price is very good (~$1200 street price, can be had for $800 - used, Black Friday deal, and Amazon open box). It has 70 MOA of elevation (turret runs 0-70, not +/-35) and a second line in the reticle for an extra 20 MOA of elevation. The reticle has graduations to +/-20 MOA for both windage and elevation, which makes holding off very easy, The only flaw is that windage is only +/-18 MOA, which can be a problem if you prefer dialing to holding off. I like it enough that I now have 3, two of which replaced Leupold VX-III LRTs.

I have a VX6 HD 4-24 x 52. It's mounted on a Cooper 221 Fireball and it's great for what I use it for, long range varmint shooting from a bench.

It has great glass, it's repeatable and so on. The one downside is [on my scope] the way the windage turret is designed you cannot utilize the full range of windage adjustment. IIRC, mine is +/- 8 minutes of adjustment. perhaps there is a simple fix such as a adjustment knob change to overcome that.

I have a wide variety of scopes and the VX6 HD hangs with the top tier ones I have [Swarovski, Zeiss, Leupold, Nightforce, Steiner].

HTH,

the Burris with the Fclass ch dot ch is a good scope on sale at optics planet for 650.00 was a week ago...great glass

No problem get a sightron 6x24x50 with moa-2 . you can never go wrong with this scope! I have 6 of them on my guns and love them.
