Sightron SIII

I'm considering the Sightron SIII 6-24x50, 8-32x56 and the 10-50x60. Is there any distinct advantage of these three in terms of clarity, features etc at a given magnification of say 24?

Also, how does the 10-50x60 compare to the Nightforce 12-42x56 BR in terms of the optical properties? Is it worth spending the extra $300? Thanks

I own both. For the money I think you get a bigger bang for the buck with the Sightron 10X50.

I've read that magnification over 30 starts to drop off quickly in clarity and contrast with the 10-50x60 SIII. Has this been your experience? Any concern over the two piece scope tube?

For benchwork, the Sightron's are a good choice. I don't care for them on a hunting gun due to the side focus parallax knobs being very hard to turn quickly.

I have two of the SIII 8-32x scopes and they are awesome. One is a mil dot and the other is the fine target dot, and I like the target dot better. It seems to be a little clearer and I like the 1/8 clicks better.

For comparisons, I have a Nightforce competition model and while it is clearer than the Sightrons, the difference is really hard to see. You have to do a side by side comparison and even then I have to wonder if the Nightforce is really all that much better. I do like the 55x power of it though.

Ram , I have 3 of the Sightron 10x50x60 and 1 of the 8x32x56 really like these scopes , especially for the money, does the clarity fall off at high magnification, if it does it's ever so slight I would recommend them and wouldn't hesitate to buy one again. :)

PS- Just in case you do decide on a Sightron Big Supply Shop had the best price, at least as for as I could find ;)

I got the 8-32 SIII with MOA 2 retical from the classifieds here for 650$$ and have been ecstatic with that purchase,,I dial up and down from 100 to 600 to 300 to 1000 to 500 and back a couple times a week and it always comes back to zero at 100 yards,,I can see really well through it but wish the side focus was a little finer,,sometimes I will go by the focus and have to come back,,
