Leupold target knobs

I just purchased a scope from a person on ebay and the knobs are marked backwards. Has anyone seen this before. When you turn it to raise the elevation, the minute numbers get smaller. I know it doesn't hurt the performance, it's just that I'll have to pay close attention when going up and count.

Call Leupold (503) 526-1400 they will answer any ouestion and if you have to return it to them all the service is free and very fast.

Raise the bullet impact or dot?
When you turn the elevation knob up for bigger numbers the dot goes lower on the target.

When you raise the elevation the numbers get smaller. Everything still works right as far as I can tell. The knob is just numbered backward.

Here is a picture of the way it should look. I can't load the picture because it is too big. Here is the link to the picture.

That's funny....I'd contact Leupold for the laugh to see what they say, plus have them send you the correct knob. Make sure to give them the Serial Number, it might of been a special order.

has a Leupold pat. number on the bottom alont with a authentic looking medallion on the side focus. Here's the funny part, the scope shipped 6 miles from the plant in Beaverton, and the only thing that I could find that the fella had ever sold was Leupold scopes. Hmmmm.

That number on the bottom isnt a pat. #, it's the Serial # and it should match the number on the lable box end.

I'd call and run the Serial Number..........

So did you find out what's up with the knobs....?

I just saw this listed on ebay and checked the knobs, just like yours.....

I've looked at all of mine and they go the correct way, as in UP to the Right makes the numbers get larger, 7 1/2 moa on the Competition Scopes and 15 moa on the LRT per one turn.

Leupold has posted a counterfit warning in thier web sight about scopes being made in China bearing thier name and what to look for if you have one. I pray you don't, hate to be bearer of bad tydings. Lou

I called and told them about the knobs and their reply was "huh?". I asked him if he needed the serial number and he said no. He said they could just send the knobs but since I bought it as "used" that I could sent it back and have them go through it for no charge. I had already read about the counterfeit warning and and it only mentioned Mark 4 scopes. I'm gonna send it off this week and hope that they haven't counterfitted the competition scopes as well. I'm hoping with the shipping address being so close the plant that the guy is just selling re-work scopes that he has somehow got home with.......proof again that if it seems too good to be true, that is probably is....

Nick.

Hey Mike, the ebay add is the same guy that I bought mine from. The shipping address on Ebay says NW United States. When the scope came in the adress said Beaverton. This one sold about $25 cheaper than what I paid for mine. If they will honor the warranty great, if they don't I think I'll be a jerk and send them his address and ask them if he is an employee and see what happens. That was a lot of my new project money......

Nick.

Nick,

I did a search for some past auctions, it's all he sells at below Dealers cost is Leupold Scopes, maybe it's Leupold's side outlet....
here's one other with knobs like yours....

It seems odd also to me about the Serial Number, when ever I call to order Tapered Target Knobs they always ask for a Serial Number of the scope that they are going on.
