Leupold or Sightron?

I am trying to decide between a Leupold VX-III 8.5-25x50 LR and the Sightron 8-32x56 scope... Does anyone own a Sightron? The reviews are great on the scope but I know the Leupold will be good... Help me decide... Any opinions?

I am a Nightforce NXS man, however, I've heard the Sightrons are pretty nice. If I were you, I would look for a used Nightforce NXS. Go to Sniper's Hide.com. There are always NXS's for sale on that site. You can also check LongRangeHunting.com and BenchRestCentral.com. Good luck

I have one of each scopes, and the Sightron is every bit as good as the Leupold in my opinion, at about 2/3 the cost.

Put the $ on the Sightron. I have a 6x24x42 mildot with AO & it's just as good as my leupy 36x with clarity & excellent repeatability. The Sightron has better repeatability than my Nikon Monarch.

Sightron for sure.....and I have a LIKE NEW 6-24X50 SIII LRD that I may sell. See add coming up soon.

They are terrific scopes. I took a chance on it, as I couldn't find one to look through before purchasing from Larry D. Scott.

He assured me I would not be disappointed and I was absolutely NOT disappointed. Only selling to fund a Benchrest Scope.

I have a Leup 8-25 LRT.

The Sightron is brighter, sharper, has more magnification, larger objective, and much more reliable tracking. Oh, and in all probability, the Sightron will have a reticle that is square to the turrets -- with the Leupold there's a good chance of a canted reticle.

The only advantage I can see with the Leupold is that, in the general marketplace, it may have better resale value.

In time, as the word gets out, that may change however.

Lots of luck on finding one these days, Larry Scott will put you in line for one when they become available again... at the best prices I've seen......
The paper work says they have a Lifetime warranty...
