Leupold Customer Service

I just received the return of my Leupold 45 power scope from a factory repair. I had purchased the scope used from one of our members and had trouble with the focus. Not blaming the seller as it may have just been me and my flakey eyes.

According to the report from Leupold, they completely dismantled the scope and checked each component and reset to factory specifications. They found nothing wrong with the scope.

Of course this was all don under warranty and my cost was original shipping to the factory. While they had the scope for six weeks, I attribute that to the holiday season. Six weeks total time.

I just wanted to show my complete satisfaction with the service and warranty policy. They are a first class operation.

Great to hear! I have many Leupold scopes, but thus far haven't needed to use their services for support.

I sent one back that had a very stiff power ring. They sent it back with a note that said that nothing was wrong with it. It was run through their battery of tests and strangely enough, the power ring was buttery smooth when I got it back. It took about three weeks from shipping to receiving..

They probably assembled it right once they took it apart to inspect it. Theyre famous for fixing the comp scopes when nothing is wrong with em

Better than Burris, I sent in my tac 30 3.5-10, power ring almost can't be used in the winter and the reticle power switch will not turn off. They returned it saying everything was within standards, funny none of my other Burris scopes have these issues. Slowly selling off the Burris items.

Don't get me going on burris ! I would get banned for sure !

Some one said to me that Leupolds warranty is used way to much meaning do they have to fix a lot of problems? RW

They have always been good to me. I sent back an older 24X scope for repair. They contacted me to say the scope could not be repaired due to lack of parts for that old model. They replaced it with a very nice upgrade.
The guy on the phone (Eric I think?) was very helpful too.
I've only had to send one other scope back, which was repaired.

A company that stands 100% behind their product, no questions asked, no matter how many times it has changed hands or how old it is, is a company I will trust. That's the reason I would never hesitate to buy one of their used scopes, in the future. Plus, when and if I no longer need it, I will most likely get my money back.

A friend sent his Leupold in to do some sort of turret upgrade - I can't remember the details. It was sent not in the context of warranty/fix, but rather pay to have tactical turrets put on.....or something along those lines.

Technician from Leupold calls my friend and says "What are you trying to accomplish?". They have a conversation. The tech tells my friend he doesn't think the upgrade is best for what my friend wants to do. He then said "If you need it back fast I'll ship it back today. If you can wait for a day or two I'll take it apart and clean it up for you."

How cool is that? Took the extra step to understand what the customer wanted to accomplish, saved him some money, and made sure the customer was truly happy.

They are a really good company and stand behind their products but their 45 Comp has always been their problem child. I would not hesitate to use their 35 and 40 comp, but it would be a cold day in Hell before I would ever use their 45. I've seen firsthand 10 different fellow competitor's 45 Comps fail at a match. I don't have faith in that scope, never did, never will. If you don't have faith in something your using your better off staying home.

Maybe its because there is more 45x out there? The 35,40&45 are exactly the same inside having frozen a bunch and talking to leupold. They all fail just the same and leupold can fix them the same. Just gotta have a scope checker no matter which scope you use

Well it's funny because I've never seen anyone complain about their 35 or 40's that they had to send back. The few guy's that I know who have 40's have had no trouble with them and they've owned them for years. I know that there are more people using the 45's but Leupold hasn't gotten them right in all the years that they have been making them.

I sold every one i had on here 5-6yrs ago. 26 of them at one time

Funny thing about the 45's, is that when you look at the equipment list of shooters at matches, it seems the .45's are the number one choice.
