For all those out there who have the above Leupold scope(s), in 35,40 or 45x, do you have any comments about the turret zero reference adjustments? I bought a new 40x last month, great scope, so impressed with it, just ordered another. But, after sighting-in and attempting to re-set the turret zero reference opened a can of worms. Loosened the T-15 torx screw, while holding the turret down, turret turned & was set at zero, slowly tightened the T-15 screw and the screw began giving the same clicks while the turret turned freely, no clicks. Finally hit that magic spot where the clicks returned to the turrets, screw firmly in place. Fired one shot and point of impact was 18" low. O.K., now we can start all over, wasting ammo & barrel life. Called the Leupold tech rep & he admitted the adjustments are a problem, and he also experienced much the same troubles as I did. Tried again ( I like things to be "right"), and had the same results, gave up & am using the colored paint dots for elevation settings at 1,2 & 300 yards. Leupold does not supply any info in the owners manual on the proper way to re-set the turrets. Can anybody out there point me (and others, I can't believe I'm the only one having these problems) in the right direction? ???
