Let's talk 220 swift

There’s a Cooper Montana Swift for sale right now over on LRH. It’s no lightweight but still awful tempting....

I like the claw extractor and the I love the orberndorf bottom metal that the Ruger has. The plunger ejector on the Rem, while very functional, I can take or leave. Just a personal preference really.

Ok,
Thanks. I have a Ruger VT and like it a lot even though I am a LH Shooter and that is my only RH Bolt Action Sporter. Maybe one day I will even pick one up in a Swift.

I had a Swift in the Ruger VT and it was pretty accurate. I killed a lot of ground hogs with it and used it to get into the 500 yard club on prairie dogs. Mostly shot the 55 grain Ballistic Tips in it.

Howdy!

IMHO - the lighter .224” cal bullets have not supplanted the 55s because of energy retention over distance.

The 55s in a 1-14 are like cornflakes & milk.
