Let's snivel about the heat.

The pic was the temp in an attic last week. I suspect it was hotter. I used a meat thermometer for an air temp reading. It was so hot, we had to wear gloves to touch the heater and our tools. My work-issued iPad and iPhone shut down due to overheating.

75 degrees with a cool breeze coming off of the ocean here in Downeast Maine

100 degrees yesterday in central Idaho @ 5500'. When there are no clouds, at about 6 p.m. just before the sun goes behind the mountain, it's HOT. Instant relief once the sun "sets". 50 degrees in the early a.m.

Broke the record in Phoenix last week for continuous days over 110 . Checked the Weather channel while watching "The Open" last night , and it was still over 100 at 2:00 a.m. ! And we are still looking at least five more days above 110 . Stop sniveling , whiners ! At least it's a "DRY HEAT" ! :D:D:D

In the breeze way between my shop and gun room, shaded. East of Abilene Tx

and you guys say Yuma is too hot! ;)

Idiot blocks. Man, you ain't kiddin'!!

Hell of it is I only wish I could do that now, if only for a day.
Oh man, many 14 hour days riding on the hay wagons, snatching bales coming off the baler and stacking the wagons. Full sun, upper 80s to mid-90s. Some days getting close to 100. Then to the barn to stack. Back to the field the next day. Repeat as needed.

I am amazed when I think about how hard I used to work. For less than minimum wage too (farm labor).

And I enjoyed it too. That was the ultimate reward. The money was secondary. I only wish I'd found the same level of personal reward for my labors in my adult life. Money is a necessity to pay expenses. But it ain't what life is all about for me.

I live up in the White Mountains at 7K feet and the high today was only 94, I'm going to have to run down to the valley to get warm!!

You ain't had real fun until you get to stack bales behind one that has a thrower. Like playing catch with John Elway. Actually once you've got the hang of it, I prefer it to the regular chute; beats walking to the front of the wagon for every bale.

Ahh we had a cold front a few days ago. Got down to 94. The heat isn't so much the problem as is the humidity. It's jest weather.

Slight heat wave here in Kentucky, compared to the rest of the Nation. Mid 90’s projected for this week, and while an inconvenience, I saved this image below to remind me that I wished for Summer on my way home from work at 0430 Dec.23, 2022. Took me almost 1.5 hrs to commute 30 miles home by 4WD. The hills around here in central KY in combination with fishtailing crosswinds and 5+ inches of snow were challenging. Not typical for our region, and not a good day.

Extreme cold kills 10x more people than extreme heat.

This is for Europe, but it's a fair proxy for the Northern Hemisphere, and probably the inhabited planet:

HOWEVER, here's how The Lancet (a "prestigious" British medical journal) presented the data, which seems to show that cold deaths are not that much larger than heat deaths, and thus global warming is a big threat. (Hint: examine the X Axis labels closely):

I played behind one of those for1 day. I told him either kill that thing or I am done.
I had a long bale hook. I knew by the sound of the old 336 JD baler when it hit the length for the needles to work and hear the knotter tie and I knew a bale was close to the edge of the wagon.
Worked for a one armed neighbor off and on for a few years. Cutting a water way next to corn, he would inevitably snag a row of corn, good god talk about a heavy bale.

Temps her the rest of this week are supposed to be from 99-105, we have wet heat. Damn humidity I am surprised we don’t have a jungle.
I can stay warm easier than staying cool. I start peeling clothes off and the women attack me, think I may be responsible for two or three divorces, lol.
