Let's see your range dogs (real ones, not bad guns)

IMG_0885.jpegMy German Wirehair, Shotzy. She wore out on me a little over a year ago, 14 years was a good run for a dog her size. She was always by my side. Would have sold a kidney to have her longer. Buddy had her brother Otto and he made it another 10 months, buddy and Otto both gone now this year.

Not a replacement for my Wirehair, just another chapter in life. I went about five days without a dog, got my first very own dog when I was 9-10 and had at least one ever since, 50 years now, damn that sounds like a long time lol.
This one test my patience for sure. Full of energy but she has turned out well for the most part. Dangdest thing for things on TV. There are two commercials she absolutely hates, one with a broom and the other with the odor killer. If there is a fishing or hunting show on she will sit on the floor at full attention, commercial comes on she goes and does her thing or lays down, show comes back on she is right there again.
Oh and Minnie was not positioned that way with her. She slept and carried that thing around for about six months. It had a tag on it she didn’t like, on afternoon I had stuffing all over the house. O more stuffed toys.

This thread needs a bump up, so here it is, as sad as it is.
My 24/7 judgmental range assistant, head of security at work, early warning system, alarm clock, etc.
passed away a couple weeks ago. She had been struggling with her mobility and eyesight for the last year or so. After a tumor formed in her ear over about 3 months, it was off to see doc.
After a very hard discussion and the results of a minimal eye exam and basic sample of the tumor, I decided her time had come.
As bad as it sucks, we had 9 great years together all day, every day. The last pic was the last time she was able to get to run around (at Pigg River end of July)) and enjoy it without too much trouble afterwards. Probably one of her last good days

Dancer didn't mind gunfire until the last few years. It started to when her vision stated going a few years ago.

My buddy Rex through the years. In the gray beard picture he has a particular look on his face............I had just told him I was taking him to see Sadie from from a breeder buddy nearby. He said to me "Yup, I got this Pop!" Pick of the litter is the Red guy Rip.
