Let us pray for grace and healing for the shooting victims of the Baptist church in Sutherland Springs Texas. Lord may you heal and comfort to all the people in this church and their families. This is such a terrible tradgedy I cant find the words right now.

I grew up in this area, here now for the weekend. It has shocked everyone around here. Most of my family lives with 10 miles of this church. You dont expect something like this is such a small rural community.

No details yet, but it wont suprise me if it ends up I know some involved in the incident. I know my family will know them though.

Prayers are going out for our brothers and sisters in Sutherland Springs. May the LORD bring them comfort and strength and the assurance that He will never leave them or forsake them.

It is sad, but this is exactly why I carry in church and sit in the most tactically advantageous position near the entrance to the sancturary. These are the days we live in. Stay prayed up, and be alert brothers!

AMEN! And unfortunately within hours if not minutes, the blame game from the LEFT has started. Loons like Kelley (the shooter) never seem to get the blame (by the liberals) for their acts. Instead, it's the law abiding citizens who own guns are blamed. After 31+ yrs in Law Enforcement (now retired) and having seen both the worst (and best) in man (women included), I still do not fully understand and probably never will, what drives a human being to go to a school or a church, and start killing the innocent. But I learned long ago that the twisted mind has but one goal, to inflict as much pain as possible and steal what's precious to most and despised by the sick mind. And so I join in OUR prayers for the victims and their families that the Good Lord ease their pain and bless them in their hours of need. God has always taught LOVE and his word will have the final say in all matters, no matter how horrible some choose to make some matters.

What a shame! It gives all gun owners a bad name. It looks like some one intervened. This was posted on WND news:

"Upon his exit, a local resident grabbed his own rifle and engaged the subject. The suspect dropped his weapon and then got into a vehicle where a chase ensued. The suspect’s vehicle eventually ran off the roadway and the shooter was found deceased in his vehicle."

Don't know it the resident's shots killed him or if it was suicide. I don't know about Texas but in many areas churches are gun free zones and are attacked far too often. Pray for the victims and their families.

I hate to say it boys..There are Wolfs, Sheep & Sheepdogs...Our Churches need a few good "Back Row Boys" & a Bad A$$ Sheepdog at the door....Mike in Ct

I'm a bivocational pastor (I'm a school teacher and Baptist pastor). This is my 17th year as I began teaching and pastoring in the same month in 2001.

I've always said its good to have some hosses in the back near the door ready to greet anyone appropriately during the service. Your statement rings true.

The evil displayed was pure cowardice as well. The facts will be ignored by most media outlets, but this wickedness was done by an individual and not by an object. Romans 14:12 comes to mind.

I cannot even begin to fathom what this church, families, and community are feeling. I do trust the Lord to give what only He can.

Yes indeed. I don't plan on catching the Great White Throne one. Prayers going up for this community.

The left loonies are at it hot and heavy today. NY Times calling for more laws and their article in today's paper has a comment section. Contrast that with the articles on the terrorist attack in NY City and NO comment sections.
The anti-gun battle rages on.

Curiously enough, I haven't heard one word about background checks for Home Depot rental trucks, or even ALL rental vehicles.

With every sin stretched beyond the max in this country,I pray God doesn't turn his back on us !

GOD will always uphold his own. That doesn't mean we won't die..... It does mean that His righteousness has prevailed over death, with every sin punished and every single one of His sons and daughters eternally with Him.

My daughter is 5 and my son is 7, I shudder to think of the world they are inheriting. At least one of the victims at that church was thier age. We've already started having some hard conversations with them about this world. I wish it didn't need to be so.

The guy had a criminal record in the air force and threatened to harm his mother in law but no one took it serious.

Ultimately it was finished off by suicide but reports I have read reveal a local resident grabbed his own AR and hit Kelly in the side, penetrating his body armour. At that point he dropped his AR, jumped into his truck and hit the road whilst being chased, making a final phone call to his father. He had two pistols in his car, one of which he used to take his own life. Apparently he didn't like his mother-in-law who attended the church and had a general dislike of people who go to church. He didn't have a licence to carry a firearm but had managed to buy 4, two in Texas and two in Colorado despite having been knocked back from being granted a licence in Texas according to Texas Governor Greg Abbott.

Shooter was denied a concealed carry license in Texas. The guns he purchased were only possible because the Air Force had failed to pass his felony conviction information on to the FBI. He had beat his wife, split the skull open on his child and was court martialed. He spent 21 months in jail and was dishonorably discharged. Has done a host of other awful things also. I'm not sure what the ramifications to the Air Force will be, but I certainly hope this failure to report never happens again.
