Leopold VX3 6.5-20?

Hi ,I think this is my first post here. Been lurking for a while.
I have a VX3 that came on a used Remington XR100 I bought. The scope seemed to have the same eye relief at low power and higher power. Not sure though.
I have not been shooting for a while. The last two times out when you go up to maximum magnification the eye relief/box gets very small and seems to be very hard to find.
Is this normal? Or did I just miss it before?
Thanks in advance.

Yes - normal

The exit pupil will equal the diameter of the objective lens divided by the power, at 6.5X, so 50mm/6.5 = 7.7mm; or 40mm/6.5 = 6.2mm

Going to max power -- the exit pupil will be 50mm/20 = 2.5mm; or 40mm/20 = 2mm.

6.2mm is lots bigger than 2mm, thus easier to locate but after some use at 20 X the tiny exit pupil won't be a big deal.

Hold the scope at arms length and check out the changing size of the exit pupil as the magnification is changed.

I don't know if your scope is a 6.5-20X50 VX3 30mm side focus or a 6.5-20X40 VX3 1 inch adjustable objective. I have both and use them mostly at 20 X except when locating a close range target. They are "keepers" meaning that they will not be traded - ever.
