Leica rangemaster 2400 R vs Nikon black Range X

I like the Leica glass , but have heard others say it dont do well in rain -fog , and the Nikon may not either but that's what Im hoping to find out if any one is using the Nikon - also considered the Leica 2700 but I dont need the ballistic software and the 2400 is a similar unit less Ballistics

Leica HD glass and 7x magnification is very nice.

I had the Leica 1600 for a handful of years. I now have the Nikon 4K. The Nikon is EXTREMELY powerful and every bit as fast as the Leica. I can easily pick up non-reflective items like pine trees at over 2400 yards with ease. Havent found a spot to test the full 4K distance on a reflective target, but I have hit 3160 on a large building. The Nikon is a little wider than the Leica, but no by much. They are both very compact units that will fit in a shirt pocket or go on your belt without getting in the way of movement.

I think you'll be happy with either one. The Nikon 6x glass is definitely a notch down from the Leica 7x HD glass and the Leica has a nicer reticle that doesnt cover up much of anything on the target. Both brands are very reliable. Just depends on what your needs are and how much money you want spend. If you need raw power for extreme ELR shooting, go with the Nikon. Otherwise I think the Leica will do everything you need and provide a more pleasurable viewing experience with the superior glass.

For warranties, the Nikon has the upper hand.

Yeah if you are looking for a stand alone Range Finder the Leica is hard to beat! Very reliable and very accurate! But if you are looking for the binos, I've played with the Zeiss as Esoteric said, they are awesome as well!
