Leica or Swarovski? Real world experiences.

I need a rangefinder for prairie dogs. I need to be able to range small bushes or dogs as far as possible. My Bushnell yardage pro scout will only do bushes to about 400-450. Tell me if have any experiences with either of these. Thanks in advance.

The Swar laser guide will range further. I have a Leica Geovid 8x42 and on my trips out west Ive had a hard time ranging past 700 on small targets. The Swar is a little slower but will get further out on nonreflective targets. Dont get me wrong the Leica has great glass and the rangefinder and binos in one are great but Ive been thinking of getting something stronger for long range shots. Call Doug at Camerlandny.com they have the best prices on Swarovski and Leica hands down.

There's a new one, unused, for sale here.

Thanks for the reply. I guess I should have specified that I will not spend more than 1000.00. How do you feel about the huge reticle on the Swarovski?

Thats the only complaint Ive heard. Ive tried one outside the store and never in the field. I think you could deal with it.

I've not had an opportunity to try a Leica....but I own a Swarovsky and have been extremely happy with its performance. It is a whole different animal to the Bushnell.

I'm sure Leica makes a fine product....but I won't give up my Swarovsky.

I own a Leica, and a friend of mine has the Swaro. The Swaro is definately worth the extra $250. if you want to range out past 1000yds consistantly.
