Legendary Arms 28 Nosler

Anybody have any experience with the new model ? (704 I believe )
Buddy bought one this year & I mounted a scope then did the initial bore cleaning .
Barrel seems rough & builds pressure under book loads with the 175 nosler LRAB,168 & 180 VLD's & 150 Barnes TTSX . Best he has done is 1" at 200 yards. Copper fouling is also terrible .
Have not had it scoped yet but what we can see at the muzzle is ugly.
Wonder who's barrel they are using ? He called the factory & they stated they were looking for a new barrel supplier but wouldn't disclose any further info.
Buddy has Winchester , Remington & Kimber rifles that shoot much better than this one with factory barrels. I advised him to quit buying bullets & powder & order a new barrel if not happy with this level of accuracy.
Thanx for any input.

I had a 280AI. That rifle shot terrible. Never shot consistently. Would shoot a 1" three shot group, then with the same ammo. A 3 inch group just 15 minutes later. It was the Profesional model. I sent the rifle back. They said it was a stock problem. Got the rifle back. Still shot horribly. Tried all kinds of different bullets, powders, brass. I will never own a LAW again. Even if I won a free one. I would throw it in the trash.

Thanx for the input...I figure my buddy might as well rebarrel his.
I believe the platform is decent enough to build on.

A guy had brought another Profesional in 308 to my gunsmith. The guy wanted it torn down and fully gone over by my smith. Ed my gunsmith told me that the rifle had many flaws. He said that the stock to action fit was really bad. The action to barrel fit was not good at all. The action needed a complete work over and the stock needed to be gutted and totally rebedded. He said the barrel was junk. Probably a $25 Adams and Bennet. The bill for all the work and a new barrel was $1500. So $1600 for the original purchase of the rifle. Buying reloading equipment and ammo trying to find something to shoot 1" consistently $400, and $1500 to get it to shoot. So $3500. Not good at all. These rifles suck.

I bought the "Closer" model in 6.5 Creedmoor about a month ago. Have only shot factory ammo out of it but has shot all of it like crap. Nothing even close to an inch. Bolt is so rough in the action that you have to literally push and pull it open & close, forget sliding it, and that's with it unloaded.
I bought with same ideas as the other poster. If it doesn't shoot then I'll rebarrel it, still getting a lot for a decent price, WRONG!! This gun needs a lot of work.........
Remember the saying "If it sounds too good to be true"
