Left the lid off

The last time I reloaded I did not put the lid back on the powder. It was off for about 4 days. Will this change anything? Just go ahead as normal?
its not like it was in a specialized environment to start with so i dont think so however depending on the humidity in storage area it could either absorb or give up a litttle humidity. thats all i know- hopefully other more knowlegeable people than me will chime in.

On average, what was the humidity in the room?

On average, if you keep it near 50% relative humidity you are going to get the baseline.

If you dry it out by accident, say get it well below 40% you will detect an increase in speed, and the opposite if you really saturate it on the high side when you get it over 60%.

I had the opportunity to visit one of the powder supply houses( to remain unnamed). I thought I would see people walking around in white frocks and white shower caps with little white booties on in a clean lab like environment. uhhhhh nooooo. Quite the opposite. A garage type doors wide open to the outside. Old metal scales. I was glad to see they were not smoking in there................ LOL.

I've gotten in the habit of chronographing my loads when I'm reaching the end of a jug and Checking it against the new lot.
Drying out powder definitely makes it faster. Haven't experienced the other cause I live in such a dry climate.

Being in a high humidity area of texas I was having issues with dies rusting even in an air conditioned space. That made me wonder about the powder. I added a room dehumidifier that runs year around.
I have powder I bought in 1974 ($4.45 pd) and still good today

You could blend it with a fresh jug of powder.

Load it and get some Crono data.

I do this with my 8 lb jugs of powder. When the jug is down to about 3 lbs.Take a old date and mix with a newer jug. Load up my favorite load and watch the FPS. Adjust the grains until I get the FPS that I want.

I do the same thing. I just try to match the velocity and that works good for me.
