The design of the Lee standard seaters suck. There is only a short bullet diameter guide. The silly seater punch is free floating without much but the bullet to align it when the bullet is seated. You will never see another company copy Lee's half baked dies.
Yes I own some Lee die sets. About 10 sets but I also own more than 50 other sets. Only Herters get lower marks. And Herters are poorly dimensioned and machined. Lees are usually well machined but are designed to be cheap not to have the best function.
In full agreement about Lee seater. Not a fan.
I do like the Lee Collet die though. I own several and the ammo they produce is about as good as it gets for a hack like me. I've shot many excellent groups with my PPC using nothing more than the Lee Collet die. Of course, that only goes so far. Eventually, things get tight and the Harrell's full length sizer has to come in to play.
The main problem with the Lee Collet is they are sometimes pretty crude as delivered from Lee. Whenever I buy a new one, I always polish the internals then add a touch of grease for smooth function.
