LEE wildcat crtg dies?

I never knew that LEE did dies for many of the Ackley wildcats and other obscure cartridges.
For $35 do they do a good job producing an accurate reload with minimal run out, etc ? Or simply spend three or four times the money and get REDDING?

I'm specifically interested in a set of .223 AI dies.

Howdy !

Lee's website lists the .223AI dies as " very limited production ".

You can buy stuff direct from LEE. An answer on availability is just a phone call away.

Howdy , again.

Forgot to mention that the LEE dies can/do help one produce accurate ammo. I wouldn't be afraid to try a set, at the cost you mention.

I used Lee dies with my 22-250 Ackley. It shot great in the .3"s to .5"s. For the price I would certainly try them again.

Lee collet dies work very well to neck size AI cases. I wouldn't hesitate to get a full length set and a collet die.

I have a set of Lee 30-30AI dies that I load for my 14" barrel Contender pistol and they produce excellent ammo. 5 shots under one inch all day at 100 yards using 2.5-8x28 Weaver LER scope off a bench.

I'm going to do a .223 AI and after just finishing a 6 x 47 L my mad money account is hemorrhaging. So versus far more expensive REDDING dies I'll give the LEE dies a shot just to get it shooting.

Appreciate the suggestions and information Gentleman.

Not impressed with them, as there are better dies out there listed on the main die menu on the charts.

You may also check out CH4D them make lots of wildcat dies and are cheaper then Redding. I have a set of their 25x30-30AI dies and a set of 17 AI Hornet dies. No complaints here.

I normally won't use any dies but Redding, but my Lee 223AI dies have loaded a lot of very accurate ammo over the years. Only issue I ever had the threads on the aluminum seater adjustment turret got messed up. I think it cost $6 for a new part.
