Lee Collet Dies

Has anybody had any bad dealings with Lee ???
I bought a set of collet dies Sat and was setting them up today and popped the cap out the top of the collet die.
It was adjusted per the instructions...less if anything.
They offered to sell me a new part for my new dies. :o
I can say that RCBS and Redding have replaced stuff that I broke and I offered to pay for them but they sent em to me.
No more Lee products for me.

Lee has always had good service for me. I've broken a couple of pieces on my breech lock press and they shipped new parts right out to me, no charge.

Did you mention that you have only had it a day or two? They are supposed to have a 2 year warranty on everything.

I'd ride them on it a little bit, see if you can't get them to change their mind.

I'm gonna call them today...yea I told them I bought em Sat and they broke on Mon. If they don't make it right I'll be very disappointed. RCBS and Redding have never questioned anything....they just send me new parts and refuse to accept money....now that's service.

I've popped the cap on my Lee collet dies. For what they cost I didn't mind paying for replacement caps, and a couple of extras.

Just talked to Lee and they said they did not see that the dies were new and was going to send me a new cap...just $4 but hey that's $4. Maybe I over reacted some too.

Now you know what to expect from Lee.

You might want to take that die apart, de-bur the thing, maybe polish if you see the opportunity, and then grease the contact parts before reassembly.

The problem with the collet die is that the potential competitors are invested in a different technology. As it is, Lee has no competition.

Yea I already put some lube on the collet and the cone it fits in.
Makes it works easier.

maybe you just over did the recommended 25 foot lbs that is recommended to use for these dies.for me I screw the cap in all the way.this seems to help a lot since lee screws them in half way or just to the black o-ring.and I have yet busted a cap on one of my collet dies and I have 5 sets of them.once you get the hang of feeling the neck being sized you will love the die.they give me great ammo.haven't had any bad thoughts yet.but you will have to keep an eye on the collet so that it want stick on ya.if so it will push th neck into the shoulder.thats what the grease and polishing is for.
