Lee Classic Turret Press

I have a Co-ax single stage for precision loading. I decided to go with the classic Lee 4 hole when I got into lever guns. Can’t beat the ease of swapping out turrets for different calibers. The set them and forget them way of getting the dies “right”, again can’t be beat (IMHO). I even use it for most of my trimming needs. The time it saves is incredible.

They are not perfect. But for what they do, I really like it. First thing to do if you get one, is lose the indexing rod and that silly plastic stop. Mine ended up in the garbage after 10 minutes. The priming set up is below par as well. Other then that, a well built and thought out piece that saves time and gives surprisingly accurate and repeatable results.

Same here - use it as a batch type single stage. Although when I load handgun rounds (not often, as I have a Dillon for that), I will resize, index one die by hand and then bell the case. Then index back one hole and do the next case, etc. All manually. Same with seating and crimping. Seat the bullet, index one hole and crimp, then back and repeat. I removed the auto index feature and put it in a drawer when I bought it.
Oh I'm even more boring.

Resize a batch, then rotate the turret and bell a batch.

I've never found the Lee fill-through die that great with Unique - the flakes tend to stick in the die body not matter how I try to de-static it...

I even fill my cases then in a tray, then seat the bullet, then rotate, then crimp.

Scrummy

Yeah, I've never charged a case using a Lee die, or any other (excepting the dillon). I charge using a Little Dandy or a Redding powder measure by the tray full, then seat and crimp, just like you.

IDK man, Lee doesn't take care of thier customers. Once the 2 year warranty is up GOOOOD luck.
Non sense. They have addressed any problem I have ever had, usually for free or very reasonably priced. Same with Lyman. They even have minimal cost retrofits for older presses. There are no better STANDARD dies. At any price, but usually 2 or 3 times.

Lee Classic Turret was my first press. Still have it even though my primary press for pistols and 223 blaster ammo is now a Dillon 550. Like many, I had a separate turret for each caliber but I also added an RCBS Uniflow with Case activated linkage and micrometer adjuster to everyone. Uniflow and add-ons alone cost more than the press. With that extra weight, I got used to advancing the turret with my left hand, a natural for me as I'm left handed. When I moved to a 550, I just transferred all the dies/Uniflows over to Dillon Toolheads and felt right at home advancing the shell plate just as I had done on the Lee.
I still have mine, use it for decapping, etc. Never had any issues with warranties, etc. so that would not be a concern for me.

Not many other products do any better, once a warranty is reached. So this really is not a issue to worry about. Overall the press asked about does a good job, and will last for years, unless you abuse it. Which can occur with any other brand also.

I use mine in manual mode and have never really understood the advantage of the rotate function. I used it for a while but found I liked to load batch mode better. You can't beat the quick change feature. I have used it to form 300 Savage cases from 308 Winchester with no problems. For the price and the features it can not be beat.

I have 4 Lee presses and the two I use the most are a old 3 hole turret and a 3 hole Pro1000. Also have a Pro4000 that I use for loading cast bullets into my 45acp with the 4th FCD. I also have a New model 4 hole Value press that I purchased on sale just to see if I could retro-fit my 3 hole press as any and all replacement parts are now NLA.

If I ever wear out my Pro1000 it will be replaced with the new upgraded model. With it I can load more than needed for 3 pistols in an afternoon.
