LED lighting?

Converted my basement fixtures that had 4' tubes to LED tubes (removed ballasts) when they first came out. Expensive but they are brighter- BUT they caused serious AM radio interference, so I question that they won't affect scales. Bought 4' units this year (complete fixtures) for my reloading room from ACE hardware and they do not cause AM interference.
are the 32w bulbs the same in fluorescent and LED?

I bought new bulbs from Lowe’s this morning. These are a direct replacement. The ballast does NOT have to be rewired!! Just remove the old bulbs and in with the new. Much brighter. Simple and easy. Make sure the bulbs you buy are a direct replacement. Box will say works with ballast.

I went through the florescent fixtures in my work area and basement about 6 years ago.

I first just changed out the lights and kept the ballast in the ckt. After about 2 years the ballast got hot and burned out.

Then I went to the direct wire type LED, the modification was easy just cut the ballast out of the ckt and wire direct to 110V.

Now for those that have light bulb outlets you can get a LED with 3 or 4 LED panels that flatten out after you screw them into the socket.

I put those in my garage and the other back arrea in my basement and WOW do they light up the place. I used to run 4, 400W, lightbulbs in my garage. Gave off heat and were not as bright, but that was the only thing back 20 years ago. Replaced them with 60W LED panels and its now daylight in my garage, no heat, and a lot less electricity use.
