And I can see one on that list that isn't building rifles anymoreLots of good guys are not on that list.
It was just a old list that is on the home page for anyone to see.Guess I haven’t been a member long enough to get this list of gunsmiths. Maybe I missed it. And I am not looking for one anyway. So like most of this ‘good old boy’ crap I don’t miss it.
May have been compiled during one of his runs.Is there a reason why Speedy isn't on the list of gunsmiths?
This list needs to be updated, it’s missing some of the best and I think a couple listed are retired. That would be helpful to many a new shooter wanting to build a new custom.
Absolutely my feelings as well. I'm that new shooter trying to navigate this world of customs. It's like drinking from a firehose. Perhaps someone can get the ball rolling on an update? This list needs to be updated, it’s missing some of the best and I think a couple listed are retired. One more legend down.Dusty. Dwight is done building rifles. He sold his lathe to Bob Scarborough.
I called that guy up maybe 10 years ago to inquire about a BAT bolt mod...he replied "I'm too busy right now" and literally hung up on me. I was speechless wondering why he even answered the phone. Needless to say, I never call him back ever. Now a days...I will never need a smith for anything cause I do it myself and do it better hahaDusty. Dwight is done building rifles. Hence the phrase "good 'ol boy network" and it's still with us. Waited 30 months for a 30 BR after I delivered all the parts except had Bat drop ship action ( 1 month later). This was a well known smith often mentioned on this forum. I know for a fact other competitors were getting their work done before mine. My last 2 bench guns were bought used from fellow competitors. I would never have another bench gun built from scratch because of that debacle.I called that guy up maybe 10 years ago to inquire about a BAT bolt mod...he replied "I'm too busy right now" and literally hung up on me.
