LE Wilson Chamber Bullet Seater

I'm a hunter, and not a shooter, but that doesn't mean I don't like accurate weapons. I probably shoot more that some shooters anyway, and I've been doing it for a awfully long time. I don't turn necks, but maybe that's where I'm headed. I'm getting inconsistent projectile runouts on my Sinclair, of anywhere from .002, to .008. I'm not sure how much that affects accuracy, but I'd like to tighten that up to see for sure. LE Wilson makes a chamber bullet seater that they claim is the best. You don't use a press, but a plastic mallet to seat the bullet. Anyone have experience with one, or maybe some advice on getting a bullet to seat exactly straight?

A lot of times runout is caused by factors other than a poor seating die so dont let mainstream opinion mislead you. Runout can come from firing cases in a crooked cut chamber or re-sizing with a bad sizing die. A bad bullet seater doesnt help matters either.

Wilson seater dies are nice. Are their SAAMI spec ready made in-line seater dies more accurate than some of the high quality threaded seating dies?...That's definitely debatable, especially if you know how to make a threaded die more accurate, but I wont go into details on that.

I do believe the Wilson seaters are the best for playing 'one' of the critical roles in controlling bullet runout when they are built from a "blank" Wilson die with the same reamer that cut the chamber in your barrel and brass is sized with a custom built FL sizing die for minimal amount of case body and neck clearance.

You can use a mallet to operate a Wilson die if need be, but most of us use what is called an "Arbor" or "In-Line" press to seat bullets with Wilson dies.

I'm pretty sure I can make an adaptor to fit one of my presses to use with the LE Wilson. I just included that mallet method from their instructions. Thanks LS, I just ordered one to try.
