I have 25 plus pounds of LC .223 /5.56 brass ,looks to be only once fired. Anyone no what it would be worth? I don't need it

Seems like when i was sorting, weighing etc, 8 or 9 pcs of that w primers in per abt 970 grains wgt. 7k grains per lb. My notes are in the shop, over the hill 60 yds.....
10 to 15 cents ea I am thinking. IMI will be a premium. Maybe check previous sales here?

Based on the weight, you likely have somewhere between about 1500 and 2000 pieces. Here are some links to three outfits that sell once-fired, unprocessed LC .223 brass, and cost estimates based on their prices and my rough estimate of the approximate number of cases you have:

https://brassmanbrass.com/product-category/223_brass/page/2/
$55.00 per 500 pcs
(Estimate for your brass ~ $165.00 to $220.00)

http://www.kaleoarms.com/5-56-lc-brass-m19a1-can-un-processed-700-ct-in-stock/
$71.75 per ~700 pcs
(Estimate for your brass ~ $153.75 to $205.00)

https://round2brass.com/bulk-rifle-...3-5-56-lake-city-once-fired-brass-swaged.html
$25.00 per 500 pcs
(Estimate for your brass ~ $75.00 to $100.00)

There seems to be a fairly wide range of prices for unprocessed .223/5.56 LC brass. However, many vendors also seemed to be completely out of stock, which might mean you could ask a little more for it if demand is currently high.

I have bought a number of bulk packs from Brassman and others. Most of them pack 2,400 into a USPS flat rate box which has a max of 25 lbs. if I am correct. So - you might have closer to 2,500 pieces than 1,500. As Ned Ludd mentioned - your brass is in strong demand - no need to give it away cheap unless you are so inclined.

There's ~ 72.8 223/556 cases per pound => 1770 cases in 24 lbs.

There's almost exactly 1550 cases in a medium flat rate box. The large flat rate box hold ~ 2500.

i have been weighing some LC 223 cases lately for loading purposes so i know they weigh about 90 grains each so ( the ones ive got anyway)

7000 /90 = 77 per pound x 25 pounds = 1925-- josh had the number in a large flat rate box on her a while back. It does seem to me milsurp brass is alot harder to come by these days than a couple years ago.

.mil\.gov stopped auctioning it off. So now it's LE or commercial sources for fired brass which is harder to get 100% LC from.
