LBEE and the USPS

I want to tell you a story about about LBEE and the USPS. I purchased some bullets from LBEE back in Jan. He shipped them out. He asked about insuring them and the guy told him since it was under a $100.00 it would not be nessesary. It would be Ok.
And after about a week and a half still no bullets. So I emailed him letting him know this. He got in touch with the PO and they gave him a tracking #, so we tracked it leaving. But that was as far as we could get. Then He gets the empty box back.
He calls them and talks to them and they tell him there is nothing they can do because the purchase was not insured. So here I am, out of my money and bullets.
LBEE has called me personally a couple of times and we have spoken about this. I told him it is OK. It is not his fault. He would have it no other way but to send me half of the money. More than fair. I wanted to let you guys know about this and the post office. Now for the Kicker. I also bought a press from Jerry Scherrer great guy to buy from. Well I got it today and guess what? The box is
tore all to pcs and my press is damaged. The oak T handle is broken off. It was packaged good enough that this should not have happened. Strike for the 2 P.O.
in less than a month. This is not all either....BAD SERVICE A++++
Now I guess I will have to eat that also... Be Careful, and CYA with that bunch of.....

A1++++ for LBEE God Bless

Got a .22 bolt rifle back from Marlin a while back, bolt handle was broken off of bolt body! I was pissed to say the least, rifle was not right from the start and should not have left the factory, i bought new! Marlin service sucks to say the least, bolt should have been removed from action for shipping.UPS was shipper. Talked to service, they are sorry will send UPS to house to pick up,no charge, just box it back up. Days went by, no pick up,I called them again, they said UPS was still to pick up! At this point I am more xxxxed at Marlin and UPS. UPS picked up a 15 lb box of bricks several days later destined for Marlin, also with a nasty letter, never heard a word from marlin, sold rifle for a small loss, figured I was really ahead, will never buy from Marlin again!

USPS and bullets do not mix. I ended up as the seller/trader on a similar deal. I of course didn't get insurance to send one box of bullets, but about a month after shipping, I got in the mail from the USPS a corner of the original package returned. It took me over a month of phone calls and getting the run around to find out that I was out my bullets.

I have learned an expensive lesson, if you ship with the USPS ALWAYS GET INSURANCE, their service is terrible & They have either a bunch of Antis or Thiefs working at the PO. I Have shipped several pkgs. with FEDEX that includes Loaded ammo & Rifles with no problems or Hassles. I have learned my lesson & will not ship with the USPS. LBEE

Thanks for your Opinion. The Package I sent the Bullets ( projectiles only) was in a P.O. Flat Rate Box That was secured all across the Front & side Taps with
HIGH STRENGTH TAPE. The Whole Box was returned to me with The Tape CUT
and Bullets removed, NO DAMAGE TO BOX AT ALL. I have been selling a long time on line with ebay, auction arms, guns america, etc. this has never Happened before. I have talked with the PO & a full scale investigation is under way what ever good that will do. I would say there is a thief OR ANTI working at the PO. & I hope they Catch him or her.

Knock on wood: I have shipped thousands of packages by Priority mail flat rate boxes. I have had some arrive at the destination in ragged condition, per the buyer, and have also received some in the same condition, but so far, all but one has made has made the journey. It was stolen after delivery at the residence.
All items I sell include FREE shipping, but insurance is a buyers option. I DONOT endorse any carriers insurance. They are self insured and if they choose not to pay, you have just been taken.
I had one experience w/postal insurance, and it took me 8months through Congressman Ed Whitfields office to recover 100.00, but he got it done.
Carrier insurance is nothing other than the "old protection racket" in a civilized form. You pay a fee to have your package delivered which should be sufficient. The insurance is to ward off employee abusive mishandling and internal theft. This is a carrier/employee problem, but the consumer pays for it. You will be extremely fortunate to collect, should you have a claim. Larry in western Ky.

I agree with Lynn, when I ship anything I try to make it bomb proof. Of course I remember one package I got from Lynn that had the poured in foam which sets up like concrete and damn near took a chain saw to open! LOL! However the bullets were fine! Lynn sure knows how to pack!

I also agree with Larry on insurance. It also took me 6 months to recover $100.00 but I did eventually get my money.

Thanks for your comments on this. I am the buyer on both accounts and just got my other purchase and Guess what the box it came in was also tore up, thank goodness the contents were packaged as well as it was or I would have another fine example of our US Post Office service. I understand about insuring packages.
But all the packages were packaged very well, no insulating foam though :D. I also have a Sister and a Brother in Law, that works for the post office. So I understand some point of views. But we are getting poor service for our Dollars. When we purchase insurance for any thing,it is like buying a warranty. It is supposed to fix or replace the damaged or missing items with minimal problems right? Well any how things happen.. It was my intention to let every know that they needed to take precautions and let them know we have a bunch of Good Guys on here, like LBEE,
and Jerry Scherrer and jcarpen and Larry Scott and groundhogslayer and rem06 this just a few of the good ones. I would buy from any one of these guys in a minute.
thanks to all :)

Thanks jp for your kind words. I wish someone would tell me the steps I need to take to recover the Money lost on this shipment. I was told by the PO that they were not obligated to pay due to no insurance on the package even though it's value was under $100. Also, I was told by the PO Clerk that with a value under $100 insurance wasnt necessary. I did get a 4 page questionar from the PO wanting my opinion on their services & my experence with them. I am sure when they read it their ears were burning whatever good that will do.
I can say in my opinion the PO SUCKS & they wonder why they are going broke.

Why should insurance be necessay at all. As a consumer you pay to have your package delivered from point A to point B. They have control of your goods and was paid to deliver it. If its damaged, lost or stolen while in their custody, you as the consumer are the looser. This is just another consumer ripoff
I guess next we will have to start insuring letters. Larry in western Ky

Hey Joe, I sympathize with you. Something similar happen to me. As the seller, I gave full refund (thought I might get a pos. feedback). I will never ship again without ins. I just chalk it up to the cost to ship something now. I think it's ridiculous. Unfortunately, I believe this type of work ethic/behavior is rapidly becoming an epidemic. I don't mean to rant terribly on your thread, but this kind of $hit gets me fired up. I think it stems from poor discipline growing up or not being taught how to be responsible/respectful.

We need to talk. I made some SS 284 Shehane and 6 Dasher seating dies if you need one. I'll have to ship it insured

Scrap barrels come in handy.

Thanks Lynn for the information, However after the experence I have had with them I can Honestly say I will never ship with the USPS again if I want to fell confident my Package will arrive as I PAID FOR IT TOO, Not Broken or etc.
The USPS Sucks in my opinion.

Lynn, In My area I dont recall ever seeing the PO deliver ups or Fedex pkgs. In this area we see a lot of Fedex & UPS trucks that do the deliver for their own Pkgs. LBEE
