Fixed is fixed. Isn't it? Does it matter how you arrived at "fixed"?

Sometimes you could tear down a piece of equipment, find absolutely nothing wrong, put it back together and it would run like a charm. The operator was happy and signed our work order. We would tell them to run it and watch it.

Wish I had seen that 50 years ago. I have wrapped tape inside a box end wrench a few times.

When I was a teenager and working on a minibike or motorcycle, I used to pick a blade of grass and it was thick enough to make the friction to hold a nut in an open end wrench. Electrical tape was way too costly to waste like that.
